Our Story

It all began in the Fall of 2005, when four men gathered together to begin praying about the need for a congregation of people who could gather together for the simple reason of loving God and each other with passion and conviction. The dream began to materialize of a church that could become a hub that would influence leaders and followers of Jesus Christ that could have the potential to impact a community, state and world for His kingdom. And after all, why not have a revival of leadership where leadership began for the nation of Texas? “Why not in Brenham?” After all, this was the birthplace of Texas. It was a God-sized vision for a people who were ready to have a God-sized faith! So in the spring of 2006, the first service for Champion Fellowship launched in the cafeteria of Brenham's local Junior High School building. In just four short months, God had grown a gathering of four families to a congregation of over 70 people who in two short months purchased a property that has now become our home. Over fifteen years later, a people who have a passion to love God, love others and share Christ are living fully the dream of impacting our community, state and world for the glory of Christ! At Champion Fellowship, we desire to grow biblical disciples who will love God, love others and share Christ. Growing that kind of love is a God sized task that only He can accomplish. However, when God moves, He usually does so through His people. What a great opportunity we have to serve together to help win our community and world to Christ. We can’t do it alone, we need each other.  We want to encourage each other to grow in our faith at such a rate that the love of Christ is evident for others to see daily. We believe that the best way for us to do that is through connecting with Christ, caring for others and committing to serve Him in this journey together. We connect with Christ by learning God’s story about His love and character through the study of His word. When we learn more about His character and love, He enables us to portray His image to a lost and dying world with compassion and conviction! His love then enables us to love by caring for others.

The leadership of Champion Fellowship desires to equip disciples to love God and love others. The third part of our mission reflects a desire to share Christ with the world. This has never been a more important time to engage our culture with the gospel. Knowing that Christ is the one who can give us truth and clarity for every part of life is a message worth telling. This will mean preparing our Champion family to share their lives and faith with others within our community and beyond. We believe that as the gospel is shared, people will have the opportunity to engage in their faith, learning what it means to believe and allowing the belief to drive their behavior. This will become the “why” we do what we do. That conviction and character can then open doors to impact the world for the glory of Christ!

The Champion logo is an important part of our brand identity. It is a unique design that incorporates our vision for the church. At first glance the design is a simplified and stylized letter “C” and letter “f” that also forms a cross. The two letters and cross are reversed out of a circle that suggests how we share Christ in the community but extend outside the shape into the world. The negative shape of the letter C is bold and strong and represents our Champion in Christ. The script style letter “f” represents our fellowship with the body of Christ but also our fellowship with Christ. Christ is perfect and we are imperfect. The style of the letter “f” is also casual to reflect our culture and personality and provides a sense of activity and movement. However there are actually three letter “Cs” in the design that represent our vision of Connect, Care and Commit.
