Living In The Story

From the very first pages of Genesis to the final chapters of Revelation, we discover we're living inside an epic story. At its heart is God's unwavering desire to fill the earth with image bearers—people who reflect His character and do what is good and right in His eyes. But humanity's rebellion created a crisis: we chose to define good for ourselves rather than trust God's definition. This rebellion demanded a solution, and God's answer was to send a true image bearer who would crush the serpent, remove the curses, and restore access to eternal life. We trace this promise through Abraham, to the nation of Israel, through judges, priests, and kings—all pointing toward the ultimate King from David's line. When Jesus arrived as that promised King, Israel's leaders rejected Him, calling Him satanic even as He healed their blind, deaf, and lame. Yet His death and resurrection weren't the end—they were the turning point. Now we find ourselves in the present age, where the gospel has gone to the Gentiles to provoke Israel to jealousy, exactly as Moses prophesied. Understanding where we are in God's story—between Christ's ascension and His return—transforms how we live today. We're not wandering aimlessly; we're participants in the greatest story ever told, awaiting its glorious conclusion when Christ returns to establish His kingdom and the earth is finally filled with image bearers reigning with Him forever.
