“How would someone determine whether they have a generous heart? We are often quick to look at a financial level of giving. When we read the Bible, we find that it is more than just a monetary gift. It is having a heart like God’s and becoming more like Him in the way we live our lives as followers of Jesus Christ. Paul said that Jesus, even though He was rich, became poor so that we might become rich and be brought to God through His sacrifice. His Father saw our need, and Jesus was willing to give, and yes, even to the point that it hurt. Our gain cost him everything! Wouldn’t it be amazing if God’s people loved the way He does? We see a need and cover it. Let’s look at how God engages His people when they develop a lifestyle of generosity!”
